Indian Institute of Management, Indore is at the fountainhead of knowledge, where excellence is a way of life. The latest entrant to the IIM family, the prime objectiveof the Institute is to develop socially sensitive business leaders and managers who are conversant with state of the art technology and possess exceptional decision-making skills. Apart from this, there is a focus on management development programmes, cutting edge research and providing consultancy services. The focal point at the institute is the unique Post-Graduate Programme, which is designed to impart relevant knowledge and competencies to the participants.

The objective of the Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) at IIM Indore is to groom participants into competent professional managers with the capacity to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment. It seeks to develop an orientation towards achievng excellence and a capacity to work effectively and efficiently, both as individuals and as team members. The first year curriculum is compulsory. The second year is a combination of some compulsory courses and several electives. The first year curriculum offered in a modular form, is designed to give essential inputs which are necessary for all managers, irrespective of their functions. As most of the participants are likely to start their careers in one of the functional areas, specialisation in the second year helps build the special skills required through electives in marketing, finance, strategy, international business, operations management, human resources management and information technology. There is all along, a constant endeavour to upgrade and refine the programme to meet the stated objective. Further, Experiential Learning, Modular Appraoch, a focus on International Business and Information Technology have been integrated in the programme, to make it relevant in today's environment.
