Prof. Rajan Saxena is the Director of the Institute. His areas of interest include Strategic Management, Strategic, International, & Services Marketing, and Customerization. Prior to joining IIMI, he was the Dean, Academic & Management Development, at the NMIMS, Mumbai. and on the Board of Directors of various pre-eminent academic, research, and corporate bodies. He has been the recipient of several awards and honours, including the "Best Teacher in Marketing Management" presented at the International Brand Summit, 1998, in Mumbai and, the Bombay Management Association's award for the "Best Teacher of Management in 1990." He has authored 2 books titled Marketing Management & International Marketing, published and marketed by Tata McGraw Hill and over 58 articles in academic journals, books, and newspapers. His experience in identifying the development needs of organizations and the influence of cultural differences on organizational cultures, strategies, and systems is rich and varied. He has developed and conducted training programmes in India and abroad and has been closely associated with institution development. He has been the President of Indian Society for Training and Development in 1992-93 and is a member of the Managing Committee of Institute of Management Consultants of India. He was conferred honorary fellowship by ISTD in 1990.
